How to Apply

Eligibility Criteria

Before starting with your application, check if you are eligible first:

You must be a Kurdistani citizen between the ages 21 - 60.

You must not be employed by the Kurdistan Regional Government in any capacity.

Your business must have been operational for at least 12 months at the time of application.

Your business must be located in Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Your business must have fewer than 100 employees.

Your business must be registered with KRG General Directorate of Company Registration (GDoCR), and you must have a Unique personal number (UPN) and a Unique Entity Number (UEN).

If you own an agribusiness or a factory not registered through KRG General Directorate of Company Registration (GDoCR) then you must only obtain a Unique personal number (UPN) to apply.

You can only apply once.

Required Information and Documents

All businesses must provide the following information:

  • Unique Personal Number (UPN).
  • Documents such as receipts, bills, bank statements, assets ownership or equivalent that prove your business has been operational for at least 12 months.
  • CEO’s National ID, CEO’s Information ID, CEO’s Passport (Optional).
  • Unique Entity Number (UEN) - not required for agribusinesses.

If you own an agribusiness, you must provide the following information:

  • Unique Personal Number (UPN).
  • A support letter issued by your local agriculture directorate.
  • Contracts or lease agreements for land holdings.
  • Agricultural syndicate ID (Optional).
  • Co-owner’s National ID, Co-owner’s Information ID, and Co-owner’s Passport (Optional).

If you own a factory, you must provide the following information:

  • Unique Personal Number (UPN).
  • Factory registration documents issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
  • Contract or lease agreements for land holdings used for your factory’s activities.
  • Latest government electricity payment receipt for your facotry.
  • Co-owner’s National ID, Co-owner’s Information ID, and Co-owner’s Passport (Optional).
  • You will also be asked about your requested loan amount and the purpose of the loan.
  • A lawyer can apply on behalf of business owners if they produce a power of attorney letter, present legitimate identification (ID and Passport), and other necessary information.
  • It’s important that you provide detailed and accurate information to not risk disqualification.

What is…

… a UEN?

A UEN is a Unique Entity Number assigned to businesses registered with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Government.

If you have already registered your company but do not have a UEN, you will get one by visiting the Government’s General Directorate of Company Registration (GDoCR).

… a UPN?

A UPN is a Unique Personal Number that is assigned to individuals by the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Government.

If you do not have a UPN, you need to visit a government office to get one. You will need to bring your national ID and passport with you.

If you have recently renewed your driver’s license, you already have a Unique Personal Number (UPN).

Agribusiness refers to business activities involved in the production, processing, distribution, researching, financing and marketing of agricultural products, such as crops, livestock, and other related products.

an agribusiness must be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resource (MoAWR) and provide a UPN.
